Gram Oorja have done Demand assessment and policy inputs for rural energy solutions, surveys to determine status of established projects.

  • The first assignment, implemented for Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation included a survey and demand assessment for 100 villages across 4 states viz. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka. This included Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for 10 villages. The team included employees as well as local level consultants who were trained for the purpose of data collection. The Gram Oorja team gained valuable experience in demand assessments in remote rural locations. The experience of managing cross functional, multi-location teams to execute a data gathering, demand assessment and project report preparation assignment would be helpful in executing future demand assessment projects.

  • The second assignment, implemented for Prayas Energy Group, a Pune based think tank in energy matters, was to study the functioning of micro grids in different parts of the country. The regions covered included Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh where solar, bio-mass and diesel based micro grids were studied.

Biogas Consultancy

Gram Oorja has provided consultancy work for implementation of Biogas plants where biogas is used for cooking purposes by replacing LPG in Canteens. Gram Oorja has designed, helped in installation and successfully commissioned the biogas projects at KeshavSrushti and at EsselPropack, Vasind.
